4.28.10

Salamualaykum,

Br. Fahad Hashmi’s trial is on the 28th inshaAllah…after three years of solitary confinement. If you’re anywhere near the area, try to attend inshaAllah. If not, let’s all keep him in our du’as. May Allah azzawajal relieve him and all our brothers and sisters of this oppression. Ameen.

“He in whose presence a Muslim is humiliated and who does not help him, being able to help him, God will humiliate him before all creatures on the Day of Judgment”. {Ahmed}

His case is pretty well known but if you’re not familiar with it, you can read about it here. This quote sums it up well:

“Finally, Hashmi has a trial date — April 28. He will be tried for conspiring to send money and military gear — socks and rainproof ponchos — to al Qaeda associates in Pakistan. And my lawyer friends tell me that the way the “material support” statute is written, you could convict a ham sandwich of supporting al Qaeda.”

Also, please don’t forget the thousands of other Muslim prisoners being held unjustly. Among them, Br. Tarek Mehanna, Sh. Ali Al-Tamimi, Ahmed Abu-Ali, Dr. Aafia Siddiqui, and countless others not just in Gitmo, Baghram, or Abu Ghraib, but here on American soil and in many other ‘secret’ locations. May Allah protect them all and provide for them from places they would never imagine May Allah raise their ranks in Jannah and grant them and their family’s patience.  Ameen thumma Ameen.

Rabbanaa afrigh alaina sabran wa sabbit aqhdaamana wansurna alal qaumil kaafireen.
Our Lord! Bestow on us endurance and make our foothold sure and give us help against those who reject faith. (2:250)
